"I grew up in Florida where the natural landscape was constantly transformed by a steady growth in population. My home, however, was in a small untouched corner of pure Floridan paradise, where my love for art and nature was established.
My intent when making work is to admire and honor nature's ability to create by emulating it in an art form. Despite man’s impact on nature, I work to appreciate and study the human ability to create as well. My personal encounters with nature and human creation have produced a deep interest in exploring and researching this synergy. Additionally, I find a constant attraction in organic shapes and the way in which they reflect or mirror each other in their matter. I find the flow of lines and patterns in nature and transcribe them into my work, where my personal relationship with nature is revealed.
The objective of my work is to encourage the endlessly working mind of the viewer to slow down, adjust, and, for a brief moment, get lost in the world the art has created for them. To stimulate this I create pieces that require specific spatial viewing and exploration of detailed narrative. By doing so this creates work that engages nature and places the viewer in a space which requires them to become consumed by the physicality of the art. "
